THE EVIDENCE FOR ASMQ IN TREATMENT OF MALARIA • Well-Established Use of the Non-Fixed Combination of AS and MQ
• Combination of AS and MQ has been used in the field for 16 years - shown to be highly effective in multi-drug resistant areas
• Approximately 230,000 cases of uncomplicated malaria in Latin America; 1.5 million cases in Southeast Asia
• DNDi-supported study in Tanzania to examine possibility of use of ASMQ on continent of Africa with >300 million cases of uncomplicated malaria
• International Quality Registration Dossier Supported By Published Data
• Clinical evidence on use of ASMQ in Over 15,000 Patients in Southeast Asia
• Preliminary results at 1 year of large intervention study by Brazilian Ministry of Health Malaria Control Program (ongoing in the Amazon Basin), in around 17,000 patients showed 70% drop in number of cases reported
